Junk silver options?

Would someone be able to point me in the right direction? I have a plastic tub full of junk silver, (sterling jewelry, knife handles, goblets, etc.), and I'd like to find someplace that buys this sort of stuff. I know the C4G place and the like are royal ripoffs, but also understand that my pile of sterling junk is not equal to pure silver. I've got quite a bit of this stuff and would ultimately like to cash it in or exchange for bullion. Any recommendations?

Midwest, never had a problem and fast. You can opt to have them send you gold or silver rounds, bars. The silver rounds I think are about 1.50 over spot but gold was around 30.00, call Gary and verify.

Thanks SLV>GLD for mentioning that. Try a local gold and silver scrap dealer. There might be some local dealers that take other silver items and not just silver coins and bars. There might be some jewelry place in your area that buys scrap silver but I would check on that to see what prices you can get on it. I would shop around locally first.

It's worth mentioning that if you have a local means then it is likely a two way street. My wife is really into jewelry and she has recovered some exquisite pieces from the sterling bin and paid spot for something that would have easily cost 10X or more at retail. Also, we have slowly been putting together a hodgepodge of very nice silverware from the same bin.
It works well for me because I generally get quoted a lower spot+ price on bullion when my wife accompanies me to the coin shop. She has done wonders for my relationship with the proprietor.
